Color Trends in 2015

Traditional05Bathroom Remodel

While bright and vibrant tones are currently trending, you will also find soft grays and charcoal colors are making a splash.

Looking to redecorate your home but don’t know which direction to go in? One of the easiest ways to begin is by picking a color scheme to work with. Often when you know the colors you want first, it makes decorating much simpler.

So what color trends are hot for 2015?

Bright and Brilliant

One of the color trends that you will be seeing more of is bright colors that make a room pop. These can be used in a variety of ways, whether with wall paint or a splash of color selectively placed within the room. Mediterranean Blues paired with muted grays make a lovely statement. The gray is soft and inviting while the contrast with the brilliant blue makes the color really stand out.

It’s not just bright blue that is big this season. Bright reds, oranges, purples, and greens are all trending right now.

For those who do not want a complete room do-over, try adding color through accessories. If you have a beige couch it is easy to pick a fire engine red pillow that would really make a bold statement. You can do this with virtually any color; your imagination is your only limitation.

Floral Tones

One of the easiest ways to show off vibrant floral colors is with floral arrangements and plants. A beautifully colored floral arrangement set in a room filled with neutral colors is an easy way to follow the trend without investing a fortune in new furniture. The added bonus is that your arrangement can be easily changed at a moment’s notice.

Revisit the 1960s

Olives and oranges are making a comeback this year. These shades are perfect for people who love the richness of earth tones. Pair soft browns with muted orange and red tones for a soft natural look. This is one of the color trends that is guaranteed to look great.

Pastel Palettes

Soft pastels are making a comeback this year. If you are thinking of painting your walls, how about a light mint green with a slightly darker aqua shade for your trim? This will make any room look attractive. You can also do this with accessories, but since pastels are softer it can be harder for these colors to pop unless they are the star of the show.

Gray Neutrals

No, neutrals are not dead. While bright and vibrant tones are currently trending, you will also find soft grays and charcoal colors are making a splash. You can always have a room painted with neutral grays and place a brightly colored painting or wall hanging on the wall to really make it pop.

Color trends are always changing. Pep up your home with some new colorful pieces of furniture, or go with a softer neutral room so you can show off that bright piece of art that you love. Go to the paint store and get some swatches, or to your local florist for inspiration. Let your creativity guide you.
